In
like a lion, out like a lamb? What will the month of
March bring us for weather? It is getting closer to
Spring and the end of our long, cold winter!
February was a great month for all classes. The
Tues/Thurs classes have been doing a great job picking
out their entire name as they arrive. They are dong a
great job putting on their own jackets using the “flip
over” method.
We
appreciate the parents giving us your support in helping
the children to do things independently.
The
MWF classes went to the Lake View Post Office and
learned how mail comes and goes. They were so excited to
mail Mom & Dad their Valentines! They are busy writing
their names and doing new math & science centers!
THEMES:
The
Tues/Thurs classes will be learning about pets,
opposites, Fairy Tales & ocean life.
The
MWF classes will lessons on Ms. “F”, Mr. “X”, Ms. “S” &
Mr.”Q”.
They
will all have lessons on “We’re All Different”, “Planets
& Stars”, “Animals at Home” & “Dinosaurs Long Ago”.
CANDY ORDERS:
The
delivery date for the Easter Candy is Monday, March 22nd.
Payment is due at that time. It must be picked up at the
north campus on Lakeview Rd. in the school gym. Times
will be from 2:30 to 4 and 5:30 to 7. Please make
checks payable to Southtowns Catholic School HSA. We are
very appreciative of the great job all of the parents
did in selling the chocolate. Thanks so much!

The
teachers would like to thank the parents for the all the
wonderful Valentine gifts they received. The chocolates,
gift certificates and candles. We can’t tell you how
much your kindness and generosity is appreciated!
DENTAL HEALTH
The
Tues/Thurs classes were visited by Dr. Maureen Casey who
is a pediatric dentist and has an office on Legion Dr.
in Hamburg. She visited on Tues., Feb. 2nd.
She
spoke with the children about dental health, showed an
exciting video with “Dudley” the dinosaur, each child
received information regarding dental health along with
a new toothbrush and toothpaste.
The
MWF classes will be taking a trip to Dr. Scott’s dental
office on Lakeshore Rd. in Hamburg. The date is Monday,
March 1st. The children will go during
regular class time. They will get to see and hear all
the wonderful things that can happen in a dental office.
A parent driver sheet will be posted for volunteers.
PAJAMA
PARTY
The
MWF classes will have a special “Pajama Party” on Wed.,
March 10. This is a special day when the children come
to school dressed in their pajama’s and get to watch a
video, have popcorn & pizza and play pajama games. How
special!!!
BEACH DAY:
The
Tues/Thurs classes will have a special “beach day” on
Thurs., March 25th. This is a fun day that
the children come dressed in shorts, etc. and get to
play in the sand, eat hot dogs for snack as they sit on
beach towels and “surf the waves.”
ST. PATRICK’S DAY:
All
classes will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a special
“wearing of the green”. The MWF classes will celebrate
on Mon., March 17th and go in search of the
“leprechaun and the Tues/Thurs classes will celebrate
it on March 16h.
A sign
up sheet will be posted for snack, napkins, parent
helpers, etc.
SPRING PHOTOS
The
children have Spring photos taken this month.
The
MWF classes will have graduation (cap & gown) photo’s
taken along with the “spring” photo and the Tues/Thurs
classes will have “spring” photos only.
The
dates will be Monday, March 29 for the MWF classes and
Tuesday, March 30 for the Tues/Thurs classes
All
children will have photos taken. You do not have to send
in any money because this will be done as a “proof”.
You
will receive a copy of the pictures and can decide at
that time if you would like to purchase.
